John Kim joined Rubenstein Partners in 2022 as Director of Investor Relations. He will lead the investor relations objectives of the firm in coordination with the firm’s senior leadership team: oversee the capital raising efforts, develop marketing and sales strategy for the various investment products, and explore co-investment and partnership opportunities.
John has been in the commercial real estate industry since 2003, starting his career as a construction engineer, held multiple leadership roles for cross-border investment management and advisory. As head of global fund management team at Samsung SRA Asset Management, John was responsible for managing over $2 billion investments in the United States and Europe – serving institutional clients as a portfolio manager for equity and debt discretionary funds. Before joining Samsung SRA, John provided portfolio and asset level real estate solutions to corporations as head of investment advisory at Samsung Everland and S1. John also held positions at the Incheon Urban Development Corporation and the Korea Tourism Organization to oversee government led large scale real estate development projects.
John graduated from New York University with a master’s degree in real estate, with a concentration in finance and investment, in addition to a master’s in real estate development. John is a graduate of Korea University with a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering. John was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for his military service in the United Nations Command Security Battalion – Joint Security Area, Korea back in 2002.
